Vancouver, British Columbia, April 20th, 2023 - Four years young Tru Earth Environmental Products Inc, a global household cleaning product organization focused on the elimination of waste, has been named one of Canada's Greenest Employers for 2023 by MediaCorp Canada Inc. for their commitment to sustainability and environmental initiatives.
"We are thrilled to be recognized as one of Canada's Greenest Employers for 2023," said Brad Liski, CEO and Co-Founder of Tru Earth. "Our partnership with tentree, our employee-led green team, our critical cause and our #TruEarthMovement are all ways that we’re working towards creating a more sustainable future."
Tru Earth’s long-term partnership with Vancouver-based "tentree," a sustainable clothing company, has helped to increase tentree’s reforestation efforts, thereby also helping to mitigate the impact of climate change in their regions of focus. Tentree’s goal is to plant one billion trees by 2030, with Tru Earth committing to planting 250,000 trees as part of this initiative.
Tru Earth's formal employee-led green team, the Critical Cause Champions, meets bi-weekly and spearheads a number of in-house education and awareness initiatives throughout the year. The team has implemented several projects, including waste reduction programs, energy-saving campaigns, and sustainable transportation initiatives. These efforts not only contribute to Tru Earth's critical cause - to make true lasting change that helps save the planet - but also encourage employees to adopt environmentally-friendly practices in their personal lives.
Tru Earth's #TruEarthMovement encourages employees to get involved by volunteering for various environmentally-focused projects, including beach clean-ups and environmental education sessions in partnership with OceanWise and The Salish Sea Research & Education Society. During last year’s International Coastal Cleanup Day, Tru Earth employees and over 75 #TruChangeMakers helped clean over 925 pounds of trash from California coastlines. These initiatives demonstrate Tru Earth's commitment to not only creating environmentally-friendly products but also to making a positive impact on the environment as a whole.
"We are honored to be among the list of companies leading the way in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability,” said Anita Spiller, Director of ESG for Tru Earth. "We believe that by working together, we’ll continue to make a positive impact on the environment while inspiring others to join us.”
"This year's winners are leaders in their fields, creating unique and practical green initiatives that engage employees and address the very human desire to be good stewards of our environment," said Richard Yerema, executive editor of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. "These engaging and unique initiatives are what set the winners apart from other organizations and make their employees - and prospective employees - proud to be a part of driving tangible change in the environmental space."
Now in its 16th year, Canada's Greenest Employers is an editorial competition organized by the Canada's Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes the employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness in their organizations. These employers have developed exceptional sustainability initiatives - and are attracting people to their organizations because of their environmental leadership.
